Southfield Park Primary School is committed to a straightforward, open, fair and transparent admissions arrangement. The School acts fully in accordance with its legal responsibilities as outlined in the School Admissions Code.

The Published Admission Number (PAN) for initial entry to Southfield Park Primary School in September 2026 will be 60.

Applications for admission at the normal intake (Reception) will be managed in accordance with Surrey’s coordinated scheme for primary admissions. Applications for admission to Reception must be made by 15 January each year. Applications are made direct to Surrey via an online application or on a paper application form available from Surrey County Council. Late applications will only be considered after all on time applications have been processed.

In-year admission arrangements effective from 1st September 2026

Sometimes a parent may need to make an in-year application for a school place if their child needs to join a school outside of the normal admissions round - for example, if you move house and your child can no longer attend their current school. This is called an in-year application and should be made directly with us from 1st September 2026 onwards. Applications are managed by our school and we will offer or decline a place directly with families, you should apply directly to the school and not via Surrey Admissions.

If you would like to apply for an in-year school place for your child at our school please download and complete our 2026-27 School Managed Application for in year admission to school (SMA) form (found below) and include any supporting documentation or supplementary information form/s that required.

You can send us your in-year application form in two ways –

• Send the form and documentation electronically to info@southfield-park.surrey.sch.uk 
• Hand deliver your paper copy of the form and documentation to the Admissions Officer, Southfield Park Primary School, Long Grove Road, Epsom, Surrey KT19 8TF

The following applications will be treated as in-year admissions during 2026/27:

• applications for admission to Reception which are received after 1 September 2026;
• all other applications for admission to Years 1 to 6.

Where there are more applications than places available, each application will be ranked in accordance with the following published oversubscription criteria for the school which are detailed in our 2026 Admissions Arrangements policy published below: 

• First criterion: Looked after and previously looked after children.
• Second criterion: Exceptional social/medical need (a supplementary information form should be completed, attached below).
• Third criterion: Children of a member of staff (a supplementary information form should be completed, attached below).
• Fourth criterion: Siblings.
• Fifth criterion: Children living in the defined catchment area of the school (see Appendix 3 of the Surrey County Council 2026 determined admissions policy (linked above) for the catchment map.
• Sixth criterion: Any other children

School admission appeals
In accordance with the 1998 Education Act, parents whose children are refused admission to the school can appeal. The appeal should be made in writing. Information on the appeals procedure is available from the School’s Admission Officer or on the Surrey County Council Admissions website:

In year or immediate entry appeals

Appeals resulting from in year admission applications will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

We will be publishing our Autumn term dates later in the summer and look forward to welcoming prospective parents to an Open Morning, during which the Head Teacher and Deputy Head will share our school vision for each child and let you know what makes Southfield Park such a wonderful place to learn.  Part of the presentation will be a video of the children and some glimpses into the classrooms, after which you will then be taken on a tour of the school by some of our best ambassadors - our Year 6 children.

Admission Arrangements for all children from September 2027 onwards

Following a 6-week consultation which took place from Friday 28^th November 2025 to Friday 9^th January 2026 we confirm that the admission arrangements for Southfield Park Primary School were determined by Lumen Learning Trust Directors on 30^th January 2026.

As part of the determination the following changes have been applied:

• Removal of ‘Exceptional/social medical need’ as a criterion within the admission arrangements.
• Removal of ‘Children living in the defined catchment area of the school’ as a criterion within the admission arrangements.
• Reduction of the number of location markers to determine distance from school to a single marker.
