Reading Rewards
Children are incentivised and rewarded for home reading using a bronze, silver and gold badge system to promote frequent reading. Once children have reached the gold award, they will enter the mastery reading challenge “Journey Through the Genres” that encourages and rewards wide and diverse reading. This aims to stretch avid readers further whilst motivating them to read a wider breadth of quality texts which will enhance their usual diet of reading. Participation in these incentive schemes is closely monitored by staff and support is offered for children who require it.
